National Spumoni Day made it into one of the warmest days of the year on August 21st in the US. Spumone is the root or singular version of the plural "Spumoni" that we all know and love, but to an Italian person it means "Foam".
Most spumoni is layered with multiple flavors, not scooped together as many American ice cream shops might offer a dish.
